The University of Kansas seeks outstanding individuals for the position of the Dean of the School of Engineering. The Dean serves as chief academic and administrative officer of the School of Engineering and is responsible for providing imaginative, effective, dynamic, and transformational leadership to ensure the school’s long-term success.

It is a time of remarkable development for the School of Engineering. Since 2012, the school has dramatically expanded its facilities--adding five new buildings and 325,000 square feet of world-class research labs, state-of-the-art classrooms and enhanced collaboration spaces. Key areas of research expertise deliver strong economic impact for the state and region: Bioengineering, Catalysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Cybersecurity/Defense, Radar and Remote Sensing, RF Engineering, Structures, Unconventional Oil Recovery, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and Water Quality.

The School of Engineering is located on the main KU campus in Lawrence, a thriving community of 100,000 about 35 miles west of Kansas City and 25 miles east of Topeka, the state capital. The School also offers undergraduate and advanced degree opportunities on the Edwards Campus in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park.
