Position description
Applications are invited for one full-time tenure track assistant or associate professor of accounting, position number 123730. The position is available with an August, 2019 start date, dependent upon university funding. Primary teaching duties will be undergraduate and graduate courses in any one or more of the following:  financial accounting, managerial accounting, cost accounting and auditing.

The University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, FL, primarily emphasizes quality teaching. In addition, faculty members are expected to publish in quality refereed journals, maintain AACSB academic qualifications, perform career and academic counseling, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A normal teaching load is three courses (two preparations) per semester. This position may require teaching at the nearby Fort Walton Beach campus of the university (approximately 50 miles east of the Pensacola campus). Opportunities for summer teaching are normally available. Salary is AACSB competitive and will be commensurate with experience.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D., Doctorate, or Doctoral degree in Accounting or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution, as well as, a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.

Preferred Qualifications
Ph.D., Doctorate, or Doctoral degree in Accounting or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution, as well as, a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. ABD candidates may be considered, but must provide strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed prior to August 2019. Preferred candidates will also have relevant teaching experience which includes proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching, professional experience and professional certification. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to pursue a balanced commitment to excellent teaching, productive research and active service.  A significant record of scholarly publication and teaching excellence is required for appointment at the rank of associate professor.
