Non-Tenure Track Instructor/Assistant Professor of Geography

The Department of Geography & Sustainability at Western Oregon University seeks applicants for a non-tenure track Instructor/Assistant Professor to start in the 2018-2019 academic year with possibility for renewal. The successful candidate should expect to teach introductory cultural and economic geography. More advanced courses may be in those subfields, but also in urban and political geography.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in geography or related field (ABD will be considered, but the position requires completion of all degree requirements by start date)
  • Ability to teach courses in human geography

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in geography or related field
  • Interest and ability to support teaching in the department’s new sustainability major
  • Prior college teaching experience
