Director of Admissions

NYU Abu Dhabi, a highly selective liberal arts and science college and a world center for advanced research and scholarship that draws students from around the world, seeks a new Director of Admissions.

Established in partnership with NYU and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and founded upon a shared understanding of the essential roles and challenges of higher education in the 21st century, NYU Abu Dhabi welcomed its inaugural class in 2010. NYU Abu Dhabi is the first comprehensive liberal arts and science campus in the Middle East to be operated abroad by a major American research university. The University offers a distinctive curriculum and residential program that encourages active learning, adaptability, and critical thought. The NYU Abu Dhabi campus aims to cultivate a deep engagement with the UAE community and, more broadly, the region. The campus covers nearly 40 acres and promotes interaction between living and learning, research and teaching, and the disciplines, as well as faculty, students, and staff.

In the fall of 2017 the University enrolled its seventh entering class comprised of 361 students from 88 countries. Reporting to the Senior Assistant Dean and Director of Global Admissions, the Director of Admissions leads a sophisticated and personalized admissions operation that supports the selective recruitment of exceptional students from across the globe. The Director of Admissions provides leadership for an international team of 15 located in Abu Dhabi, New York, and London and is responsible for achieving enrollment goals for NYU Abu Dhabi in alignment with University-wide enrollment goals and objectives.

NYU Abu Dhabi’s next Director of Admissions will be a bold, inventive, and optimistic leader, and a deft agent for change who brings superior communication, management, strategy, and diplomacy skills. The successful candidate will possess analytic and technological depth, a collaborative leadership style, excellent organizational and planning skills, and a commitment to and record of exemplary personal and professional integrity. The Director of Admissions will have an understanding of the value of the liberal arts partnered with exceptional research; an appreciation for a student body from a diversity of backgrounds and experiences; and knowledge of what contributes to a rigorous intellectual community in educating the next generation for a 21st century global economy. She or he must have understanding of the international community and an international sensibility; prior experience in international admissions is highly desirable. A bachelor’s degree is required; a master’s degree in higher education, administration/management, or other related fields is preferred.

Inquiries, nominations, and applications are invited. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled. NYUAD hopes to identify the new Director of Admissions over the summer.
