Assistant to the Chief Marketing Officer

The assistant to the chief marketing officer (CMO) provides high-level administrative support to the CMO through conducting departmental and university business and by proactively creating/managing an effective workflow to accomplish the work of the CMO. Duties include managing the CMO’s calendar, prioritizing appointments, resolving conflicts, analyzing and organizing office operations, compiling reports, and coordinating all aspects related to conference attendance. As the assistant, you will serve as the primary point of contact for and will handle matters addressed to the CMO as appropriate.

The assistant to the chief marketing officer will be expected to attend meetings and take notes as required. The assistant will conduct research and compile information for reports, field confidential requests and/or documents, approve purchases and travel requests, and manage time-off requests/approvals on behalf of the CMO. Informing the CMO of project statuses while maintaining excellent working relationships with colleagues is crucial. The assistant will also handle general office duties such as initiating work orders and ordering supplies, organizing communications between departments, and running official errands for university functions.

Minimum Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proven experience managing multiple high-priority tasks
  • Previous experience related to managing confidential matters
  • Strong customer service skills

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license

Travel required: Less than 10%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
