Internist with VA clinical duties

The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking an internist for appointment at the rank of Clinical Instructor (no track), Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor on the Clinical Track.

    • Teaching, both didactic and clinical

We encourage and support involvement in professional society activities.Our clinician educators also have assumed important institutional leadership roles in education, quality improvement, and administration.

The successful candidate will provide clinical care at the Iowa City VA in the outpatient primary care clinical area as well as the inpatient hospitalist setting.In the outpatient primary care clinic, the successful candidate will provide comprehensive, coordinated, and evidence-based primary care to adults through their own faculty clinic as well as the resident-teaching clinics.On the Hospitalist Services, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to staff on teaching and attending-only teams.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate outstanding skills in teaching, clinical medicine, decision making, communication, and collaboration. Previous experience as a clinician educator is preferred.Applicants must have an MD, DO, or equivalent degree, completed an ACGME-accredited Residency Program, and be authorized to work in the U.S.
