The Assistant/Associate Professor – Cattle Improvement Specialist is a non-tenure track faculty member of the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service who provides leadership in applied research and extension programs related to reproductive efficiency, genetic improvement of herds and supports development of best management practices for the cattle industry in the state and region.

This position requires a Ph.D. in Animal Science or highly related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required. Documented ability to work effectively in a team setting and with different audiences is required. Physical and mental ability to effectively perform all responsibilities including long and irregular hours and frequent travel are required. Driving is required and the candidate must have transportation for use on the job with liability insurance in effect. Preferred: Specialized experience in reproductive physiology, applied genetics, cow/calf production and management, or related specialty highly preferred. Experience in applied research and extension in cattle is strongly preferred. An understanding of and experience in different segments of the beef industry is preferred. Experience with practical cattle production systems is preferred.
