Scientist for a position as an Associate

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics is recruiting a full-time scientist for a position as an Associate for a one-year appointment.  Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and be authorized to work in the U.S.  

The successful candidate will have had hands on experience in the study of mechanism by which pyruvate metabolism regulates cardiac remodeling. The candidate should also be experienced in studies of the mitochondrial pyruvate metabolism regulating cardiac remodeling and heart failure. The candidate must also be specifically adept at the following molecular biology and physiological techniques: cardiomyocyte cell isolation and culture, Langendorff perfusion, isolated working heart perfusion, processing samples and data analysis for mass spectrum and NMR, advanced molecular biology such as protein biochemistry and RNA-seq analysis. The applicant must be well published in high impact journals, and be capable of successfully and independently writing grant applications.
