Position Description This non-tenure earning faculty position will teach courses in the online program (Fall, Spring, and Summer). In addition, the position will be responsible for teaching, advising, and other program related activities, such as develop/modify courses, facilitate fieldwork and thesis experience for students, engage in program marketing/student recruitment, serve on the program admissions committee, coordinate faculty advisors, and coordinate new student orientations. Other opportunities may include facilitation of the program’s comprehensive examination, mentoring student research, participation in department, college, and university service, independent research, and related activities. The successful applicants must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instructor, including holding a doctoral degree from an accredited institution with a focus/specialization in children’s mental/ behavioral health, university teaching experience, and course development experience. The position requires the Assistant Professor of Instruction to work from the USF Tampa Campus. It is not a remote position. 

Minimum Qualifications

„ PhD from an accredited institution in the field of social and behavioral sciences, education, or health education/rehabilitation/mental health counseling or related field with either a specialization/focus in children’s mental/behavioral health or professional/working experience in children’s mental/behavioral health.

„ University teaching experience.

„ Course development experience.

„ Meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Professor of Instruction.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Online teaching experience in children’s behavioral health.
  • Experience coordinating academic and/or training activities.
  • Experience in academic advising.
  • Experience mentoring graduate students in fieldwork and research.
  • Children’s behavioral health research productivity (publications and presentations).
