Indiana State University invites nominations and applications for its next dean of the College of Technology (COT).
The dean serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the College of Technology, and reports to the provost and vice president for academic affairs. The college employs approximately 60 faculty and staff and enrolls nearly 1,700 students, including 130 graduate students. The next dean must have an earned terminal degree in a discipline relevant to the college, as well as academic credentials suitable for a tenured appointment in one of the college's departments. The dean must also have significant experience in leading diverse teams and the ability to support the variety of academic programs represented in the college.
Founded in 1865, Indiana State University is a comprehensive, state-assisted public institution offering degrees through the doctoral level. The university offers more than 100 undergraduate majors and 75 graduate programs. Minority students constitute 28 percent of current enrollees, giving ISU one of the most diverse student populations of all public residential universities in Indiana. Indiana State has a long tradition of serving underrepresented populations; more than half of freshmen are Pell-eligible, and approximately 40 percent are first-generation college students.
