Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer

SEARCH FOR THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

NAFSA: Association of International Educators

Washington, DC

NAFSA: Association of International Educators seeks a collaborative, entrepreneurial and visionary leader to serve as its next Executive Director & Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO). NAFSA is the largest and most comprehensive professional membership association dedicated to international education. With approximately 10,000 members at more than 3,500 institutions in over 150 countries, NAFSA serves its members and the profession through professional development, networking opportunities, leadership development, and advocacy and hosts the largest annual conference in the field of international education. A majority of NAFSA members are found on university and college campuses working as advisors, administrators, and faculty. But also, association members represent nonprofit organizations, government-based organizations, and private companies. Each year, hundreds of NAFSA members volunteer to create and disseminate knowledge, influence public policy, and maintain a strong organization. These leaders serve on the board of directors, committees, knowledge communities, task forces, and in other volunteer roles.

Reporting to the Board of Directors (The Board), the ED/CEO will lead a talented team of approximately 61 professional employees. As NAFSA prepares to celebrate its 75th anniversary, the ED/CEO will build upon the organization’s remarkable legacy by engaging members and working alongside The Board to map out the future of global engagement and the long-term prosperity of the association. The next ED/CEO will provide strategic leadership to harness NAFSA’s position as the leader in international education. The ED/CEO must be knowledgeable and passionate about international postsecondary education and exchange, a skilled administrator with business acumen, and the ability to lead, motivate, and inspire others in a professional membership association. Instrumental to the ED/CEO and the association’s success is the ability to establish and sustain transparent communication with stakeholders as well as implement entrepreneurial revenue-generating activities that will benefit the association. This is a terrific time for an accomplished leader in higher education and/or association management to join NAFSA’s international community dedicated to advocacy, education, and innovation.
