Job Description

The University of Nevada, Reno is recruiting for a Community Outreach Trainer. This position is located on the University of Nevada, Reno campus. The Community Outreach Trainer is responsible for the facilitation of competency-based training curricula for Continuing Education Units (CEU) based training workshops and seminars for new and experienced social workers, public child welfare professionals, human services professionals, community stakeholders throughout the state of Nevada. The Trainer is also responsible for participating in curriculum revision discussions, planning meetings and quality improvement activities.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Social Work two (2) years of related work experience, or

Master's Degree in Social Work and one (1) year of related work experience

Related Experience : social work practice; working with children and families in a child welfare setting; development, implementation, revision and/or evaluation of performance-based training curricula or related.

Certification and Licensure
  • Licensed as a social worker in the state of Nevada, i.e., Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or ability to obtain licensure within one year of appointment; failure to do so will result in termination of employment
  • Valid Driver's License

Grants-in-aid

The University is proud to provide a reduced-rate tuition benefit to faculty and qualified dependents. Faculty can take up to six credits per semester at a reduced rate.
