Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Human Genetics in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of human genetics research as detailed above, with a track record of publication and good communication skills. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D/ Ph.D or equivalent degree. Candidates must be certified or board certified/eligible in Clinical Genetics by the American Board of Medical Genetics.

Teaching responsibilities may include participation in the clinical education of medical students, residents and fellows, along with a focus on research mentorship.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services, with a narrow focus on the clinical expertise of the selected candidate.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include engaging in independent or highly collaborative funded research involving human genetics, genomic medicine, or translational therapeutics with a focus on having an high impact to new disease discovery or producing knowledge to better understand existing conditions.

Clinician Educator track faculty will typically be focused on collaborative research and scholarship as co-investigators. Tenure track faculty will be principal investigators of extramurally funded research projects and publish in peer-reviewed journals.
