Job Description Summary
A researcher with a knowledge in tumor immunology is sought to be involved in investigating the role of the inflammatory myeloid cells in the tumor microenvironment and the cellular and molecular mechanisms by which tumor modulates their immune functions in cancer patients and tumor-bearing mice. The research specialist is expected to participate in and perform experiments, data analysis and data presentation to investigate the role of the tumor-infiltrating inflammatory myeloid cells in the regulation of adaptive immunity in lung cancer patients. He/She will investigate the ability of tumor-associated neutrophils and macrophages to regulate tumor-specific T cell responses and to mediate antibody-dependent cell cytotoxicity. The potential candidate will also study the mechanisms underlying in anti-tumoral activity of newly discovered subset of APC-like tumor-associated neutrophils

Position is contingent upon funding.

Job Description

The Research Specialist C will be involved in all aspects of the individual projects. He/She is expected to conceive, participate in and perform experiments, data analysis, as well as independently manages the day-to-day operations of the lab in collaboration with Principal Investigator. Duties include performing flow cytometry, time lapse microscopy, cytotoxic assay, and working with mouse models (i.v, i.p, s.c injection, tissue harvesting). In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities will be involved in more complex experiments including evaluating tumoricidal activity of tumor-associated myeloid cells as well as they role in the regulation of T cell response in human lung tumors

The Research Specialist D will be responsible for developing and optimizing approaches and assays to investigate the effect of tumor-associated neutrophils and macrophages on anti-tumor T cell responses in lung cancer patients. In addition, He/She is expected to conceive, participate in and perform experiments evaluating the role of tumor -infiltrating myeloid cells in the regulation of immune response triggered by therapeutic anti-tumor antibodies. Position responsibilities include experiment design, performing experiments, data analysis and presentation. He/she must be able to perform and analyze the flow cytometry-based assays, cytokine multi-plex assay, basic assays of molecular biology. The Scientist will work independently to manage daily research projects, data collection and organization of the laboratory.

Position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications
Research Specialist C: Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of related experience in research, clinical study, project and people management or equivalent combination of education and experience is required

Research Specialist D: The minimum of a Master's Degree and 3 years to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have experience with research in the cellular and molecular aspects of tumor immunology. Should be highly organized and task oriented. Experience with performing flow cytometry-based assays is required.
