SCAD Savannah seeks a global services librarian to be responsible for fostering a dynamic and collaborative access services team.

In this role, you will partner with other library and university departments to ensure that the library provides the highest degree of services, resources, and support to the SCAD community. You will contribute to all aspects of customized library service delivery, both on-site and online, and across the SCAD community. You will also support students’ expectations for a full calendar-week library operations schedule.

The qualified candidate has a demonstrated ability to improve customer service and staff efficiency in access services and to develop motivated teams. The candidate should have excellent written and verbal communication, stellar multitasking and organization skills, and should be familiar with integrated library systems. The candidate should also have experience providing services and resources in mixed-mode situations to include online or distance education, hybrid instruction models, etc. The ability to work in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing/delegating tasks and responding to urgent deadlines is also essential.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • ALA-accredited Master of Library Sciences degree
  • Minimum of two years in a librarian position
  • Experience planning and implementing events in a library environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the Circulation Department.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm. In order to accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
