SCAD Savannah seeks a full-time professor of architecture to instruct an array of talented students. At SCAD, architecture students learn to apply historical, cultural, theoretical, and aesthetic concepts in combination with technical and practical expertise to design buildings that add value to the world and how people experience it.

In this position, you will lead architectural design studio courses in all areas of the curriculum and will lead additional required and elective courses in your area of expertise. You will contribute to the B.F.A. program, the NAAB accredited M.Arch. program, and — with the university’s growing enrollment — the Integrated Path to Architectural Licensure (IPAL) bridging students from undergraduate through the graduate program to successful completion of the architectural registration exams.

Housed in the SCAD School of Building Arts, the architecture department also leads study abroad programs at the university’s location in Lacoste, France. As part of a community of diverse and highly credentialed colleagues, you will have access to the largest physical library holdings among art and design schools in the U.S. You and your students will have exclusive access to objects of study at the SCAD Museum of Art, SCAD FASH Museum of Fashion + Film, and the Lacoste History Museum. This global network of libraries, museums, galleries, and signature events provides unparalleled opportunities for students to explore the emergence of innovative forms of expression and engage in scholarly research.

Named among the best small cities in the U.S. by Condé Nast Traveler, Savannah has an inviting climate and culturally rich downtown that provides a real-world workshop for the study of art and design and allows faculty, staff, and students alike to flourish. SCAD blends seamlessly into the landscape of Savannah, which is home to one of the nation’s largest and most renowned National Historic Landmark districts and has been recognized for its adaptive reuse and urban revitalization by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the American Institute of Architects, and the International Downtown.

The successful candidate must have a professional degree in architecture and experience teaching in a university setting. Knowledge in building information modeling and geographic information systems software applications, parametric modeling, analytic models in architecture, or similar technical knowledge is highly desirable. International work experience is a plus.

Requirements:
- Professional degree in architecture
- Interest in teaching at SCAD Lacoste
- Architectural licensure (preferably NCARB but international licensure may be considered)
- Specialty in BIM, GIS, spatial data analytics, mapping software and representation, information design, topographical modeling, parametric design, and building performance analysis
