Job Description:

Temporary Full-time Positions in Human Services

The Department of Behavioral Sciences at Dutchess Community College invites applications for faculty positions in the Human Services Program primarily conducting field supervision. The opening is a  temporary full-time faculty position with an expected start date in August of 2022.

The Field Supervisor Faculty will be responsible for assisting students in choosing an internship that is appropriate for their plan of study.  They will meet weekly with assigned students to process how the internship is progressing and assist students in connecting theory and practice. This Faculty member would conduct weekly individual conferences with students and be the liaison between the field placement site and the college program; reviewing / evaluating / grading journals, observe student at their placement site, maintaining student records as well as updating forms and manuals yearly and communicate effectively with the Program Chair.  In addition, reviewing student academic plans, attending all required departmental and college meetings and becoming an active participant in the college community would be expected.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with or teaching community college students and to those with an understanding and appreciation of the role of the community college in higher education.  Preferred candidates will also be able to demonstrate an understanding of the role of assessment in course and program development.  A commitment to diversity and an understanding of how diversity impacts learning and instruction is strongly preferred.  Additionally, preference is given to those with knowledge or and/or experience with substance abuse treatment.  Ideally, a CASAC credential holder would be desired.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $56,554 - $73,531, and is commensurate with degree level and experience. DCC offers a competitive benefits package. Requirements:

Master's degree in Human Services or related field.

Knowledge and experience in working with clients/consumers/recipients of service a must. 

The candidate needs to be a creative thinker who understands trends in the field and sees themselves as a visionary. 

 


Additional Information:

Faculty positions are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between Dutchess Community College and Dutchess United Educators (DUE).
