Description

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering Technology at the University of Houston-Downtown invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Associate or Assistant Professor with focus in safety management. 

We seek applicants, at the level of Associate or Assistant Professor in Engineering Technology with a PhD in engineering or related field, who excel in teaching, student service and provide evidence of successful research. 

The successful applicant is expected to teach at the undergraduate level; teach courses in safety/safety management and general engineering; and provide high impact learning experiences to students through a variety of teaching/research activities. Also, the successful applicant is expected to establish and maintain a research program; involve students in undergraduate research; actively seek external funding; and engage and contribute to internal and external professional service. 

We are particularly interested in applicants with strong interest and expertise in developing/leading a program in safety management; industrial experience; and knowledge of ABET accreditation.
