The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth invites nominations for and applications from individuals interested in assuming an exciting leadership opportunity as Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management.  Reporting directly to the Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, the Associate Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management provides strategic leadership and direction in all facets for planning and meeting the undergraduate enrollment goals of the University. The incumbent will be responsible for the full development and implementation of policies and programs that create and support a comprehensive strategic enrollment management and marketing plan. The AVC supervises Department Heads and Directors within Enrollment Management as assigned by the Chancellor including but not limited to National and International Admissions, Transfer Admissions, Financial Aid, and University Enrollment Center. The incumbent will play an active role in all union-related grievance procedures, as well as represent the Division in collective bargaining discussions and processes.

In partnership with the enrollment team and University leadership, the Associate Vice Chancellor will develop a comprehensive, data-driven, multi-year undergraduate recruitment plan that is relevant and responsive to the marketplace. The AVC partners with departments and divisions across the University to ensure an all-inclusive, seamless approach to the student recruitment life cycle and works to improve persistence and graduation of students enrolling at the University. This individual will lead the continued development of a state-of–the art enrollment approach that identifies objectives and opportunities and appropriately assigns resources. The ACV will offer innovative strategy and thoughtful decision-making procedures that will increase applications, enhance selectivity, and improve yield in order to meet both the enrollment and budget goals of the University. The Associate Vice Chancellor will lead metrics-driven efforts to identify and measure the most desired qualities for students, with the goal of meeting or exceeding annual undergraduate enrollment and retention goals with the optimal mix of students. The successful candidate will work with the Director of Financial Aid and senior leadership team to determine the most effective strategy to leverage need-based and merit aid to enroll students who will thrive at UMass Dartmouth.

The successful candidate will hold a Master’s Degree or demonstrated combination of education, training and/or experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. The candidate will also have significant experience (over seven years) of higher education leadership experience in a successful enrollment management position as well as experience leading enrollment management and marketing efforts in a matrix organization with quantifiable results penetrating and opening new regional, national, and international markets. Preferably, the candidate will have will have enrollment management experience working in both public and private higher education as well as experience working in a unionized environment.
