Accounting Faculty Search General Description/Position Purpose

The Department of Accounting and Management Information Systems in the John L. Grove College of Business (accredited by AACSB International), Shippensburg University (SU), invites applications for TWO tenure-track Accounting faculty positions to teach undergraduate and graduate courses effective August 2018. Rank (Associate/Full) will be commensurate with qualifications, including prior teaching experience, published research in accounting, and demonstrated service. The faculty member may be assigned to provide instruction at off-campus sites and/or through distance education. In addition, faculty members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement. Finalists for this position must communicate well and successfully complete an interview and teaching demonstration, as judged by the Department faculty. A recommendation for hiring is needed from a majority of the regular, full-time Accounting faculty. Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidates will be required to submit to a background check, including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, criminal background check, and Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance.  Shippensburg University is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Minimum Qualifications

Requirements include: (1) an earned doctorate degree in Accounting or closely related field from an AACSB accredited program OR an earned doctorate in Accounting or closely related field from a regionally accredited program with a residency requirement. Candidates with a degree from an AACSB accredited program, prior full-time experience teaching accounting at the university level, U.S. professional accounting certifications, and/or U.S. professional accounting work experience are preferred.
