Vice Provost for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion

Creighton University (Creighton) seeks a dynamic, strategic and accomplished Vice Provost for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion to lead, advocate, collaborate and implement diversity and inclusion initiatives across the campus in partnership with programs, centers and community.

Founded in 1878 and located in Omaha, Nebraska, Creighton is one of 28 Jesuit colleges and universities in the United States. More than 8,000 undergraduate, graduate and professional students come to Creighton each year to find their place in the world through lives of leadership and service. Through its many offices and programs, Creighton advances its mission of infusing Jesuit, Catholic principles in everything they do; a reason Creighton is forming leaders for a more just world.

In keeping with the Ignatian tradition of fostering an inclusive, compassionate, and respectful environment for students, staff, faculty and guests, the University welcomes all expressions of diversity. As such, Creighton’s inaugural Vice Provost for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion will join a campus excited about collaborative efforts and connectivity as they partner with the community to create and promote an organizational culture that values diversity in all its forms through inclusive dialogues, experiences, respect and appreciation of others to leverage people as a source of collective learning, campus unity, and institutional strength.

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an experienced diversity leader who has a documented history of successfully developing and advancing diversity programs. The campus is ripe for a collaborative leader in its inaugural Vice Provost for Institutional Diversity and Inclusion who can build upon current diversity efforts and develop a clear vision and strategy for moving the campus forward. The University seeks candidates whose personal and professional experiences reflect a commitment to and knowledge of the higher education landscape and one who is steeped in the research and literature of diversity, equity and inclusion. Creighton also seeks candidates who want to partner with the campus community, Provost Dr. Thomas Murray and President Rev. Daniel S. Hendrickson, SJ on the important journey to an even bolder future with a new strategic plan imminent on the horizon.
