Educational Psychology: Assistant Professor

Expected duties include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, serving as an academic and/or research advisor for undergraduate and graduate students, providing expertise in teaching courses in areas such as educational psychology, learning sciences, human development, human learning, and research methods; pursuit of a relevant research and publication agenda, and providing service to the department, college, university, and the profession.   This position has the potential to be part of a cluster hire of faculty in The College of Education, Health and Society for successful diverse candidates whose research, teaching and/or service connects to a theme of promoting Socially Just Communities (e.g., participatory community research, mutually beneficial university-community partnerships including community engagement, service learning, and collaborations with clinical/practice courses/training) consistent with our initiative for Community Justice and Wellbeing.

 

Required: Earned doctorate in educational psychology or closely related discipline (ABDs will be considered, but the doctoral degree must be completed by the time of appointment), with expertise in three or more of the following areas: learning sciences, child and adolescent development, learning theories, diverse family systems, educational research, or disability studies; evidence of a research agenda relevant to such disciplines; knowledge of multicultural education or background in working with diverse student populations in P-12 or higher education.

 

Consideration will be given to those with university teaching experience, public or private P-12 school teaching or related service experience, initial publication of research in relevant educational psychology areas or related field, and skill in incorporating technology in teaching.
