The Division of Enrollment Management at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, invites applications and nominations for the position of Executive Director for Enrollment Management Reporting and Analysis (hereafter Executive Director).

The Enrollment Management division is comprised of 140 full-time staff who serve our students through five departments and functions: Undergraduate Admissions, One Stop Express Student Services, Financial Aid and Scholarships, the University Registrar and Strategic Enrollment Reporting and Analysis.

 

The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee seeks a dynamic enrollment management leader with the ability to contribute in impactful and meaningful ways to the University’s strategic plan and enrollment goals. The Executive Director will work alongside the Enrollment Management Team providing leadership and vision for Enrollment Management planning initiatives. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Executive Director will oversee all reporting, data analysis, decision support and predictive modeling in support of the strategic enrollment plan for the Division of Enrollment Management. Ensure the necessary reports and/or reporting tools are available to key audiences to inform decisions related to Undergraduate Admissions, registration, scholarships and financial aid and student service functions provided by the EM Division. Analyze and provide projected trends (global, national, regional, state and institutional) in enrollment and admissions that are critical to campus planning and meeting the undergraduate enrollment goals established by the university and within the strategic enrollment plan. Work with campus partners and external vendors to ensure data integrity across units and within various systems. Set the strategic direction and manage the operational functions of the area. Responsible for the data and decision support of enrollment management initiatives, including assessing ROI across key initiative and investment areas.

 

This position reports directly to the Vice Provost for Enrollment Management and supervises a staff of six exempt employees who provide standard and ad hoc reports to both internal EM units and external campus constituents. The position also has planning, budgeting, and operational line responsibility.

 

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS degree and a minimum five years of leadership experience with progressive responsibilities in reporting and analysis
  • Knowledge of higher education, enrollment management, recruitment, admissions, institutional research, marketing and data systems
  • Detailed knowledge of data reporting software, statistical, forecasting and relational database access tools
  • Experience with data visualization tools
  • Staff supervision experience and demonstrated leadership
  • Planning and decision-making skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Judgment and organizational awareness

 

PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree
  • Experience in higher education, enrollment management, admissions or related field
  • Ability to integrate concepts from multiple areas, with a focus on enrollment management outcomes
  • Demonstrated abilities in team building, leadership, supervision, management, selection, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, problem solving, goal setting and assessment within the context of enrollment management
  • Strong background in analysis of large data sets aggregated from multiple source systems
  • Proven experience in strategic planning and strategy execution, including measurements of effectiveness and success
  • Understanding of net tuition revenue and scholarship discount rate models
  • Experience with budgeting and program development
  • Understanding of the importance of maintaining open communication with campus partners
  • Exceptional relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to foster change, deliver quality business results using technical, communication
  • Ability to generate, define, develop, and produce research projects
  • Demonstrated time management and priority-setting skills
  • Ability to successfully participate on system-wide, campus, and external committees
