Endocrinology scientist position as an Associate

The Division of Endocrinology in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics is recruiting a full-time scientist for a position as an Associate for a one-year appointment.  Candidates must have a PhD or equivalent and be authorized to work in the U.S.  

The successful candidate will have had hands on experience in the study of mechanisms by which insulin receptor substrates modulate ventricular hypertrophy.  The candidate must also be specifically adept at the following molecular biology and physiological techniques: cardiomyocyte cell culture, RNA-seq analysis, plasmid cloning, transgene delivery via viral transduction, transaortic constriction surgery, and echocardiography.   The applicant must be well published in high impact journals, and be capable of successfully and independently writing grant applications.
