Description: Applications are invited for a one-year lecturer position in Computer Science, beginning in Fall 2017 semester. Renewal for an additional year may be available depending on evaluation of teaching performance and department needs.

Qualifications: Applicants must hold a M.S. degree or higher in computer science or in a closely related discipline with extensive background in computer science. A Ph.D. degree in these fields is preferred. The applicants are expected to have excellent academic credentials and a proven ability to teach courses and laboratory sessions effectively, maintaining strong student-faculty interaction.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in computer science, including core courses and elective courses. Specific areas of interest include computational theory, algorithms, operating systems, networking, distributed and parallel computation, software engineering, and computer architecture. Priority consideration will be given to applicants in these areas. However, outstanding candidates from other areas within the fields of computer science will also be considered.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter: The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Clery Act: CSUB's annual crime report includes statistics for the previous three years concerning reported crimes that occurred on campus, in certain off-campus centers, such as our Antelope Valley Satellite Campus and on property within, or immediately adjacent to and accessible from CSUB.
