Dean of Nursing

Warner Pacific, a Christ-centered, urban, liberal arts College, seeks a Dean of Nursing to develop, lead and direct the newly established nursing program.  This is an opportunity for an innovative and visionary leader within nursing education to play a pivotal role in creating the overall vision and mission for a nursing program intended to increase diversity in the nursing workforce.

Warner Pacific College (WPC) is dedicated to providing students from diverse backgrounds with an education that prepares them to engage actively in a constantly changing world.  In Fall 2016, over 57% of WPC’s traditional students were racially or ethnically diverse.  WPC is the only four year institution in Oregon to be listed as an Emerging Hispanic Service Institution and expects to be designated as a Hispanic Servicing Institution in 2018.

Reporting to the VP/Academic Affairs, the Dean of Nursing will take a leadership role in fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes excellence in teaching, practice and scholarship.  The Dean of Nursing will be a person of high integrity, who is courageous and a risk taker, able to build coalitions and work collaboratively.

Requirements include a master’s degree in nursing; a doctorate in nursing, higher education, and/or administration is preferred; (if the doctorate is not in nursing, a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university is required); minimum of five years of teaching experience in undergraduate nursing curriculum/education administration; three years of experience in undergraduate nursing program administration; eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Oregon.

Inquiries, nominations and applications are invited.  Applications should include a curriculum vitae and a letter of interest and should be sent electronically to: WPCDeanNursing@wittkieffer.com.   Inquiries by phone should be directed to Warner Pacific College’s Witt/Kieffer consultants, Claudia Teschky (630.575.6172) or Joyce De Leo, Ph.D. (630.575.6177).  Applications will be reviewed immediately and will continue until the position has been filled.

The Warner Pacific College values diversity and is committed to equal opportunity for all persons regardless of age, color, disability, ethnicity, marital status, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, veteran status or any other status protected by law.
