The University of Massachusetts Amherst has an opening for an Associate Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations.  The Associate Director reports to the Director of Stewardship and Donor Relations and plays a critical role in the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive stewardship and donor relations program to help build long-term relationships with donors, ensuring they know their support is truly appreciated and makes an important and meaningful difference to UMass Amherst, leading to increased support from these donors. This position often works autonomously and requires creativity and innovation.

 

Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business, Communications, Marketing or related field. Three years’ experience in development or equivalent experience in private sector marketing or public relations will be considered. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Proven ability to work cooperatively and effectively with senior management, staff and constituent groups across all levels of the organization and to maintain productive professional relationships in complex, demanding environments. Computer skills in using word processing and spreadsheet applications, as well as ability to access and update a computerized donor database.  Ability to travel occasionally and work occasional nights and weekends.

 

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Stewardship and/or Donor Relations. Higher Education experience. Experience using video-making technology.
