Responsibilities: Must be able to teach in the single subject credential programs in a variety of areas including strategies and methods and assessment courses as well as supervise candidates during their field experiences. Other related duties include advising, committee work, a program of scholarship, and service to the profession and the community.

Qualifications: Ph.D. or Ed.D. in education or related field from an accredited institution (A.B.D. candidates may apply).
1). Minimum of three years of public school teaching in elementary and/or middle school settings with culturally and linguistically diverse populations and students with special needs, 2). Strong potential for educational research, 3). Demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population, 4). Other preferred qualifications include the following: successful university level teaching and supervision experiences in clinical practice; an established record of research and scholarly activities in the area of elementary education; and experience with instructional technology.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter: The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

Teaching Load: The normal teaching assignment includes teaching, scholarly activity, service, advising, and campus committee assignments.
