Job Description Summary
Due to the continued growth of the Center for Cytokine Storm Treatment & Laboratory (CSTL), we are searching for a Data Coordinator to help with the CORONA (COvid19 Registry of Off-label & New Agents) project, the world's largest database dedicated to identifying and tracking all treatments reported to be administered to COVID-19 patients and support building and maintaining the STORM (Systematic Tracker Of Repurposed/new Medicines) viewer. STORM integrates and tracks all clinical trial data and enable the search for patterns, identification of drugs that need to be further evaluated in clinical trials, and facilitate recommendations to strengthen the global effort to combat COVID-19.

Job Description

Working independently, the data coordinator will be tasked with performing manual data extractions and database entry from the published literature and other data sources, supporting automated extractions, database querying and management, and supporting analyses of data. He or she will report directly to the CORONA Managing Director. Qualified candidates will have experiences with data extraction, an understanding of basic medical terminology, and familiarity with virology, immunology, and drug repurposing. Candidates must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail; willingness to take initiative; ability to work independently but also know when to seek help, and to work as part of a fast paced and integrated team. The individual must possess strong decision making skills and the ability to work uninterrupted on a focused project. This is a unique opportunity to join a highly motivated, patient-focused team that works closely with international collaborators and the federal government to make and publish novel discoveries that will have a significant impact on patients who have COVID-19 and other diseases with major unmet medical need.

Duties:

Perform manual data extraction

Supported automated data extractions, database querying and management

Support performance of data analyses by the bioinformatician

Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree with 2-3 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
Experience with data extraction required

Understanding of basic medical terminology required

Familiarity with medical terminology required

Experience with literature reviews preferred

Experience with data query, data mining, and data auditing preferred

Experience entering data in REDCap, Qualtrics or other similar data entry systems is preferred

High level of attention to detail, organizational skills and commitment to accuracy is required. Interest in performing repetitive data entry.

Possess good data review methodologies that ensure accurate and precise data monitoring.

Comfort in an "iterative environment" in which periodic rework is inevitable.

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Self-starter with a strong desire to contribute and work collaboratively to achieve goals

Ability to work independently and apply critical thinking and sound judgment

Excellent oral/written communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Strong computer/technology skills including database management, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project (or other similar Project Management).
