Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Department of Neurosurgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of complex pediatric spine surgery and translational research focusing on wound healing. The successful applicant must have completed a pediatric neurosurgery fellowship, and have a history of intramural and/or extramural grant submissions in the field of wound healing. Applicants must have an M.D or M.D./Ph.D. degree.

Teaching responsibilities may include education and training of medical students, residents and fellows.

Clinical responsibilities may include brain and spine surgery-including, but not limited to, the treatments of brain tumors, hydrocephalus, spasticity, Chiari malformation, craniosynostosis and spinal disorders.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include translational research in the biomaterial science of wound healing. Evidence of scholarship is required in the Clinician-Educator track.

Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery and Pediatric Neurosurgery and spend significant effort of time directing a research laboratory.
