Description:
Temporary, Full-time Lecturer position in Mathematics Department starting in August, 2017.

Qualifications:
Applications are invited for a full-time lecturer position in MATHEMATICS and STATISTICS beginning in August, 2017. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Mathematics or Statistics. The candidate must demonstrate an interest in teaching Calculus, Probability Theory, Linear Algebra and Differential Equations courses to a diverse body of students.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates with interest in teaching Statistics courses.

Teaching:
The teaching load is 15 semester units where most of the courses are 4 units each. Almost all
courses in the Department of Mathematics include an activity/problem solving session.

Background Check:
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current CSU employees who apply for the position.

Mandated Reporter:
The person holding this position is considered a "mandated reporter" under the California Child Abuse and Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083 as a condition of employment.

The Department of Mathematics currently consists of twelve full-time faculty including two lecturers. The department offers a BS degree in Mathematics with the following concentrations: Applied, Economics, Statistics, Teaching and Theoretical, as well as, service courses for non-majors.
