The Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for a Research Associate position in the Academic Support Staff. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). Expertise is required in the specific area of Molecular biology, advanced microscopy including spinning disk and point confocal microscopy, and animal models of peripheral nerve regeneration. Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree.

Responsibilities may include Investigations of the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying peripheral nerve regeneration using a wide array of approaches including molecular Biology, cell biology, microscopy and animal models.

The successful applicant will have an opportunity to further develop critical thinking skills, familiarize with related literatures and experimental techniques, prepare manuscript and grant preparation, present research findings in national and international meeting, mentor junior scientists, and participate in career trainings offered by the University.

Candidate should have a minimum of 3-5 years postdoctoral experience.
