The Opportunity: Reporting to the President and serving as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs ensures that the academic curriculum sustains the academic standards of the College’s accrediting and licensing agencies and appropriately reflects the mission of the Campus. The Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs provides vision and leadership to the academic department heads, the faculty, and all academic support personnel. S/he will manage the budget of the Academic Affairs Office; establish the priorities and plans for program development as well as faculty recruitment and development; supervise all matters relating to curriculum and instruction in the College, including outreach, evening and summer courses, scheduling and overloads; create the annual Operational Plan for the division of Academic Affairs and evaluate the progress toward goals and objectives; serve on the Vice President’s Council; coordinate and chair meetings of the Academic Affairs Committee of the Board of Trustees; and serve as chief administrative officer in the absence of the President.

Qualifications: The next Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs will exhibit dedication to the liberal arts mission of the College and possess a thorough understanding of College operations and all aspects of academic function. With a collaborative, inclusive, and collegial leadership style, the successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to shared governance and a proven ability to communicate and work with faculty, staff, and students as well as community groups of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Along with a strong background of administrative and teaching experience, an earned doctorate and evidence of scholarly activities are required.

Location: Keystone’s campus rests on 276 scenic acres in the historic Lackawanna Valley of northeastern Pennsylvania. The region boasts beautiful landscapes highlighted by the Endless Mountains. Surrounded by hills and waterways, the region features historic sites from the age of the industrial revolution, outdoor recreation and winter sports, and cultural entertainment. La Plume offers comfortable living and is located within a two-hour drive from New York City, Harrisburg, and Philadelphia.
