Dean of the Graduate School

The University of the Pacific invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Graduate School. The successful candidate will assume the position on or about July 1, 2017.

The University of the Pacific www.pacific.edu is a nationally ranked, independent, coeducational university serving more than 6,300 students on three campuses in Stockton, San Francisco, and Sacramento. The University offers degrees from eight professional schools, as well as numerous undergraduate and graduate programs.  The Stockton campus is home to seven schools and colleges with more than 80 majors and programs of study leading to bachelor’s, master’s, specialist, and doctoral programs, including selected educational and health programs.  The San Francisco campus hosts the Dugoni School of Dentistry as well as multiple graduate programs, while the Sacramento campus is home to the McGeorge School of Law and offers additional graduate and professional programs in business, education, health, and analytics.

The dean is responsible for oversight and management of the Graduate School, which supports the graduate level degree programs offered at Pacific. Reporting to the Provost, the Dean of the Graduate School serves as member of the Council of Deans and is charged with upholding the University’s mission to provide a superior, student-centered learning experience integrating liberal arts and professional education and preparing individuals for lasting achievement and responsible leadership in their careers and communities.
