Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics
The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics (BEAM) at Virginia Tech is seeking non-tenure track Instructors for two positions that will start on August 10, 2017. The initial appointment will be for one year with the possibility of continuation dependent upon performance and availability of funding. Duties will include teaching undergraduate mechanic courses, particularly statics, dynamics, and mechanics of materials. Additional opportunities may be available to teach undergraduate courses in engineering science and mechanics and/or biomedical engineering.
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. or a M.S. in Engineering Mechanics, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline. Candidates with an M.S. degree must have taken a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours of courses related to engineering mechanics. Teaching experience in a university or college is preferred as is experience in laboratory Instruction and/or experience in the biomedical engineering field.
