ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF BIOCHEMISTRY

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Manhattan College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biochemistry beginning in Fall 2017. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate lecture courses in biochemistry and general chemistry. In addition, teaching protein biochemistry laboratory is expected. A research program with undergraduate students is required. A Ph.D. in biochemistry, with an emphasis in protein biochemistry, is needed and post-doctoral and teaching experiences are highly preferred. Candidates will be evaluated on their academic background, communication skills, potential for excellence in teaching, scholarly activity, service to the college, and ability to bring new ideas and directions to the biochemistry program. 

                                                        

Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, a description of planned research with estimated start-up costs and the names of three professional references, one of whom should be able to address teaching ability.
