The Department of Psychiatry at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track. Expertise is required in the specific area of services research or dissemination and implementation science in the field of suicide prevention. The ideal candidate will have experience with evidence-based practices for suicide prevention across the life span including specific expertise in Cognitive Therapy for Suicide Prevention and the Safety Planning Intervention. Previous experience collaborating with large healthcare systems is also desired. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. License or license eligibility in Pennsylvania is required.

Teaching responsibilities may include providing education in suicide prevention practices for trainees and staff within healthcare systems.

Clinical responsibilities may include providing clinical administrative support to implement evidence-based practices to reduce suicide risk but does not include direct patient care.

Research or scholarship responsibilities may include developing an independent research program with a focus on evaluation and implementation of evidence-based practices for suicide prevention.

The Penn Center for the Prevention of Suicide has a 15-year history of using research to develop and evaluate evidence-based practices for suicide prevention and to improve the care of individuals at-risk for suicide in healthcare settings.
