Assistant Professor - African History

 

The History Department of the University of North Carolina Wilmington invites applications for a nine-month, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of African History. All regions and time periods will be considered for research specialties. Teaching responsibilities include upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in specialty and a two-semester survey of Global History Since 1500, in both online and traditional formats. Salary competitive.

 

Preferred start date in January 2022 with a possibility of starting in August 2022.
A comprehensive, doctoral high research activity university situated in the historic port city of Wilmington, UNCW enrolls over 17,000 students and offers the opportunity to specialize in African History within the global track at the M.A. level.

 

-Strong commitment to teaching and scholarship is required.
-Candidates must have the Ph.D. in History or a related field at the start of employment.
-Preference will be given to candidates with previous teaching experience at the undergraduate and MA levels.
