Job Description Summary
The University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA seeks a Research Support Director-WRDS to work with Ph.D. and IT professionals with expertise in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics, and Computer Science to assist the Wharton Research Data Services (WRDS) Research Community by providing high-quality Research Programs, Analytics, Applications, Research Replications, and related research tools. Advise on best practices of conducting empirical research with WRDS data. Create and deliver new financial and analytical products to academics and corporate customers that are specialized, complex, and based on academic research. Present analytics in a user-friendly format on the WRDS website. Assist WRDS users on research and -datarelated issues. Conduct academic and corporate training seminars for WRDS users around the world including scholars in finance, accounting, economics, and other business disciplines. Identify new finance research applications by keeping abreast of current information. Participate in academic and corporate conferences. Advise WRDS Data and IT team on data integrity processes to enhance current products and contribute to the design of new products and services to facilitate research accuracy and reliability. Construct and enhance data-research products. Evaluate additional research datasets with a focus on new research. Create own signature research products and provide new data sources to the research community. Contribute to WRDS by working on innovative and value-added academic and corporate projects to enhance the value of WRDS brand. Conduct research and data-related academic training seminars.

Job Description

Requirements: Ph.D. (or ABD) in Finance, Accounting, or Economics (or foreign equivalent). Must have 1 year of experience:

(i) providing high-quality Research Programs, Analytics, Applications, Research Replications, and related research tools;

(ii) constructing and enhancing data-research products;

(iii) evaluating additional research datasets with a focus on new research; and

(iv) creating own signature research products and providing new data sources to the research community.
