Cleveland State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Washkewicz College of Engineering.  As the chief academic officer for the college, the dean will provide s strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the academic and scholarly programs.  In collaboration with the faculty and chairs, the dean will establish and implement a strategic vision for the college that will enhance undergraduate and graduate education and strengthen the college’s research portfolio by leveraging the numerous opportunities for federal/state and industry partnerships. They will also be responsible for facilitating faculty, staff, and student success, generating extramural financial support, engaging with college alumni and the local community, and leading the college to higher levels of achievement, recognition, and reputation.

Qualifications:  Applications and nominations may come from the academic, public, private, government, or non-profit sectors. The successful candidate will possess a doctoral degree, be tenurable as a full professor in one of the College’s departments, and will also have a proven record of leadership, collaboration, and broad experience. They should also possess entrepreneurial and development skills and a strong commitment to diversity. They must have a significant record of success as a well-respected administrator within a complex organization.

Compensation/Expected Start Date: Compensation is competitive and based upon qualifications and experience.  Starting date as early as January 3, 2022 or as soon thereafter as possible.
