Health Services Researcher

The Department of Internal Medicine in the University of Iowa-Carver College of Medicine is seeking an outstanding physician-scientist Health Services Researcher for an Assistant Professor tenure-track faculty position. The successful candidate must have an MD or equivalent medical degree and biomedical informatics fellowship training. Completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program is required. We welcome applicants with methodological or content experience in any area of health services research, particularly secondary analyses of large databases, cardiovascular disease, cancer diagnosis and treatment, rural health access and delivery, antimicrobial resistance, implementation science, opiate use, or women’s health.

Applicants should demonstrate exceptional potential for an extramurally-funded research program in the areas of predictive modeling, natural language processing, medical imaging, or imaging informatics and have a track record of peer-reviewed publications.  

The successful candidate must also demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to participate in interdisciplinary research.
