Department Summary
The HEDCO Clinic is a multi-disciplinary, innovative training clinic within the College of Education offering children and families evidenced-based assessments, therapy, and tutoring services. The HEDCO Clinic consists of training and service clinics operating within the College of Education and serving the community of Eugene-Springfield and greater Lane County. The clinic has a student clinician staff of approximately one hundred fifteen students and over forty faculty and supervisors.

The clinic is staffed by a team of faculty and graduate students who provide comprehensive, research-based services to a range of different populations, with ages from early childhood through older adults. The clinic provides services in the areas of autism, learning disability, speech and language therapy, cognitive and brain injury interventions, reading and mathematics tutoring, as well as individual, couples, and family counseling. The HEDCO Clinic provides more than 8,000 client appointments to more than 600 clients every year.

The Clinic Manager facilitates communication, coordination, and collaboration among clinic programs to provide high quality care and welcoming atmosphere for diverse clientele. Clinic Manager must have the ability to take initiative, exercise independent judgment, and remain calm and professional through difficult interactions. Must have excellent decision-making and problem solving expertise.

Position Summary
The HEDCO Clinic Manager position is located at the University of Oregon, College of Education, in Eugene, Oregon. The HEDCO Clinic Manager position coordinates the day-to-day business operations of the HEDCO clinic to ensure high quality care is provided as well as a welcoming atmosphere for diverse clientele. Primary responsibilities include clinic operations and budget management, HIPAA compliance officer, supervision of clinic staff and activities, records management, and compliance. This position is the primary point-of-contact for providing direction, information, and interpretation of business-related functions for clinic staff, student interns, program supervisors, and the public.

The HEDCO Clinic Manager is supervised by the HEDCO Clinic Director. The Clinic Manager supervises 2 classified staff and 6-8 students who provide administrative and receptionist support in the Clinic.

Staff provides assistance to individuals who have difficulty with speech and/or hearing, individuals with physical and/or cognitive impairments, and individuals with mental health and/or substance abuse concerns. The HEDCO Clinic Manager plays a key role in ensuring interactions with clients remain private, confidential and that staff are professional and calm through difficult interactions.

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Two years of experience in health care or clinic operations or comparable experience
  • One year of supervisory experience
  • Experience working with electronic health records systems or comparable software systems
