Infectious Diseases faculty position

The University of Iowa Department of Internal Medicine/Division of Infectious Diseases is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Infectious Diseases physician at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Clinical Track. Individuals under consideration must have a M.D. or equivalent degree and must have completed subspecialty training in Infectious Diseases.  Candidates must be enrolled in or have completed additional formal training in quality improvement or patient safety (e.g. Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars (VAQS) program or equivalent). This position requires completion of an ACGME-accredited Residency Program.

This position will involve service roles in hospital epidemiology and antimicrobial stewardship at the Iowa City Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) and provide both inpatient and outpatient general ID care at the Iowa City VAMC and at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Candidates must have an interest in infection prevention, antimicrobial stewardship, teaching and clinical care in an Academic setting.
