Program in Education, Assistant or Associate Professor of the Practice

The Program in Education at Duke University invites applications for a regular­‐rank, non-­tenure track position at the assistant or associate professor of the practice level to begin August 1, 2021. Primary duties include teaching responsibilities and program administration. Candidates should hold the Ed.D. or Ph.D. in Education or related field(s).

Evidence of potential for excellence in teaching, leadership, scholarship, and a commitment to undergraduate education must be provided. The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to equity and advocacy related to race, class, gender identities/expressions, sexual orientation, disability, and language, especially in urban schools.

The outstanding candidate will have experience with the following:

  • assessment, program evaluation, licensure, and accreditation
  • teaching undergraduate students
  • teaching and/or administration at the high school level
  • supervision of student teachers
  • partnerships with PK-12 schools and community organizations
  • use of technology to support teaching and learning
  • grant-writing and administration

Candidates who have experience and/or background in comparative education, education policy, educational leadership, educator preparation, critical race theory, and/or anti-racist education are encouraged to apply.
