The Viterbi Family Department of Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego
(https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/ophthalmology/pages/default.aspx) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body. The Department is seeking an experienced and dynamic candidate as a professor in Glaucoma.

The successful candidate will be a member in a unified division, providing clinical care at multiple sites, expected to participate in clinical and/or basic research and will be responsible for providing high quality medical training to students, residents and fellows.

Candidates must have an MD or MD/PhD. Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/ permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Candidates with experience with medical and surgical procedures in diagnose glaucoma and vitreous diseases including and not limited to glaucoma, vision loss, blunt or chemical injury, eye infection, blocked blood vessels and inflammatory conditions are preferred.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded. As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
