Kennesaw State University (KSU) invites applications and nominations for the position of Dean of the Coles College of Business. Kennesaw State seeks an innovative leader who is approachable, transparent and committed to building upon Coles’ tremendous growth. The next dean will support collaboration, nurture entrepreneurship, and lead a successful academic environment for faculty, staff, students, and the surrounding business community.

A leader in innovative teaching and learning, Kennesaw State offers more than 150 undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral degrees to its more than 35,000 students. With 13 colleges on two metro Atlanta campuses, Kennesaw State is a member of the University System of Georgia and the third-largest university in the state. The university's vibrant campus culture, diverse population, strong global ties, and entrepreneurial spirit draw students from throughout the region and from 92 countries across the globe. The university’s alumni network is 100,000 strong. Being a Carnegie-designated R2 doctoral institution, it is one of the 50 largest public institutions in the country.

The dean reports directly to the provost and is the chief academic and administrative officer for the Coles College of Business. In this time of growth and ambitious strategic initiatives, the next dean will continue to build upon Coles’ entrepreneurial spirit and propel the college to stay on the leading edge of business education and engagement. A few of the key priorities for the next dean will include: continuing to ensure Coles’ graduates are career-ready; cultivate a philanthropic relationship with economic and community leaders from across the Atlanta region; support a research vision that is aligned with KSU’s R2 mission while influencing the decision making at top business organizations; create a diverse and inclusive environment while expanding Coles’ reach beyond it physical borders by offering opportunities through international education.

The dean will bring to the role a record of teaching and scholarly achievement reflective of Kennesaw State’s own standards of excellence and coupled with integrity and vision. The successful candidate should possess an earned doctorate or foreign equivalent in a discipline relevant to the College as well as academic qualifications appropriate for appointment at the rank of professor in one of the academic departments of the College.  The next dean should also demonstrate a record of effective managerial leadership skills, clear communication, and a commitment to diversity, inclusivity, shared governance and community engagement.
